This is good. A must read to get the press‘ POV of the president and his manipulation of “facts.” Kalb also draws parallels to McCarthyism, and even Watergate and Vietnam. Short and sweet and packs a punch. My #SomethingFromAnotherPointOfView , as Kalb differs from the president‘s take on the press (I have to agree with Kalb on this). #Nonfiction2019
Incidentally, Kalb briefly mentions Albright‘s book “Fascism: A Warning.” Another good book!
Sign me up for the Kiese Laymon fan club. While these essays don‘t have the gravity and drama of Heavy, they still really broadened my view of what it is to be black in America. And these aren‘t your standard academic essays, they‘re vibrant and told in many different ways, including an epistolary one (squee)! 4⭐️
