Fall from Grace: A Novel | Danielle Steel

Pickpick

I was fascinated by how this story was told; the narration was excellent. The words were…. Interesting. Go Ed; lots of privilege as well as tragedy, but yowza the privilege and luck. The last time I read Danielle Steele was HS.

Who has seen the movie?! 🎥🍿 I enjoyed this story and it reinforces my adoration for Blume - what an American treasure.

Ready for my September reading. Damnation Spring is the BookSpin 🍭 and whatever my Audible credit will be is my DoubleSpin. Lots of open space - but soon will be my heating up of possible ToB potentials!

I have a new obsession: library cookbooks! Checked out this one due to my frustration of getting the books I want to read that fit the challenge #ReadICT category: season. 🤣 (I want to read Ali Smith‘s Autumn but my library doesn‘t have it?!?!?!?) 🍽️🍝🍂

#ReadICT category Season #Aug2024 Book71

Tamra I have a library cookbook “problem” - it means I check them out and then often feel compelled to buy them! 😆 Actually it‘s the perfect way to see whether any specific book is a fit because they are pricey. 2mo
BkClubCare @Tamra - I take pics or make copies of the recipes I want. I did tell my mom that I want a book for Christmas 🎄 2mo
Liz_M I fully support the library cookbook obsession! 2mo

My nonfiction choice for NOW, also — it was published in the year I was the age 16. For the #ReadICT challenge. (I had no idea of the interesting resume of this author; yes - my feminist education is ongoing.)

Suet624 Oh yes, Angela is 🔥🔥 3mo

I had no idea what to expect when I started this. In fact, 🤦🏻‍♀️ I was foolishly thinking it was a short story collection. Kept seeing it on many Best Of lists and somehow grabbed a copy from a LFL or the Library sale, can‘t recall. I am starting to wonder if I should do more prep. I usually don‘t read/enjoy mystery/thrillers because then I start thinking they will be fast and twisty. This is NOT. This is definitely on the literary side and ⬇️

BkClubCare it took some time to get into. I needed more big blocks of uninterrupted time to finally get swept into it to appreciate. Which I do! Giving it high pick. Just stick with it and don‘t give up on ol‘ Mrs. Duszejko. 🦌🦴🚜❄️🌲🐕 (edited) 3mo

So, I spent an amazing amount of minutes scrolling through my gr TBR to get to the page of what books were pub‘d in the year/s I was 16 (ahem) and LO & BEHOLD Davis‘ important work (my assumption but I don‘t think I am wrong) was published in 1981. And my library has a copy. BRING IT. (I was considering Irving‘s Hotel New Hampshire and/or Judy Blume‘s Tiger Eyes) #ReadICT (category: year age 16)

FYI there are 13 books on my tbr pub‘d 1981

Have I ever met a pie book I didn‘t like? 🤔

I must add… this has connections to Braiding Sweetgrass that is rather astonishing to me: milkweed, anyone? Cattails?! ❤️🌱
