The top row and the next two books are my must-reads for #February. The City & The City and The Firemaker are the two I‘m most likely to read for #Booked2022 (I need 2 per month to finish on time). The others are my current plan for #ReadingAfrica2022. I need 5 per month to finish that challenge by the end of the year. I have a little wiggle room because of last month, but I‘d like to try to keep that for later in the year. #proposedTBR

I put together a #proposedtbr for September, including books for challenges, an intent to try to whittle away my extensive NetGalley queue, and finishing up books from August. In doing so, I came to a horrifying realization. I don‘t feel like reading. Anything. I would like to have read everything here, but I don‘t want to actually read anything right now, not even any of the other unread books on my shelves. 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺#horror

rabbitprincess Oh no! I had that same feeling for a good chunk of April and May and it was awful. Hope it blows over soon and that you have something else fun to do in the meantime. 3y
BarbaraBB Maybe try something completely different? 3y
rwmg I do get days like that. I can't imagine whole months. When it does strike, I spend the time watching Youtube reaction videos 3y

Here is my initial #proposedTBR for May. My birthday is at the end of the month, so I reserve the right to completely throw this out the window. 🤣 I want to finish the books I started in April, Dark Age and A Small Town in Germany. Untamed is my work book club pick and we meet on the 11th. I‘m pretty sure Destination Unknown is the next LMPBC. Those are my must reads. The rest are a combo of favorites: authors, books, and genres.

rabbitprincess Keeping an eye out for your review of The Naive and Sentimental Lover if you get to it! It‘s one le Carré I have not yet got to. 4y
DGRachel @rabbitprincess I skipped over it when I started reading his books 20-ish years ago, but after he passed away last year, I decided to try to read all of his work in publication order. 4y

I realized yesterday that I still hadn‘t done a #proposedTBR post for November. I wasn‘t sure I was up to my original November list from the beginning of the year. Then I compared what I was currently reading against the original list and realized I had essentially started the list, so here‘s my NF/Noirvember TBR. Not sure if Mrs Mohr is really noir, but it‘s a mystery, so close enough. ☺️

AlaMich I like “Noirvember!” 4y

My #ProposedTBR for January: finish the three “in progress” reads following me into the new year from December (not pictured is the digital ARC of The God Game), the first of my #YearofDumas reads, and the books that have been recommended over the last 5 quarters by my BookRiot bibliologist that are still unread. But first, a nap to sleep off the XL mimosa from New Year‘s brunch. 🤣🤣

WhatWouldJaneDo The Luminous Dead and Daisy Jones were two of my faves last year (I gifted them both for Xmas)! Great TBR, I hope you enjoy! 5y

My April #proposedTBR. The top row is my must-read shelf. I‘m hoping to make a dent in the bottom shelf and get through at least half of the middle shelf.

Drocchio03 Beautiful bullet journal! 6y

Leftcoastzen Very nice! 6y
cathysaid Shakespeare book club? I‘m having not-so-pleasant undergrad early nineties flashbacks 😰 6y
DGRachel @kspenmoll @Leftcoastzen Thanks! @cathysaid - there‘s a Shakespeare buddy read group here on Litsy and we just finished 1 Henry IV and we‘re moving onto Part 2. I‘m picking and choosing which ones I want to read, and sadly missed joining in on a couple I love. 6y
cathysaid @DGRachel Kudos to you! Seriously, well done. I was a college English prof with all the degrees and ed-u-mah-cation (comedies and tragedies) and I‘ve never met a Shakespeare play I didn‘t hate. Baffles me, but it‘s true! Beyond my understanding. (edited) 6y
DGRachel @cathysaid I majored in English-Literature, loved my Shakespeare studies class but hated my early American Literature class. Also, not a fan of Chaucer or Beowulf. Go figure. The only play I know I hate has nothing to do with the play itself and everything to do with the fact that my ex studied it in his Shakespeare studies class alongside the girl he dumped me for. Codfish. 🤣 6y
