#SeptemBowie💔Growing up #underpressure to escape a difficult childhood, Amanda Lindhout dreamed of travel. Her naivety & false confidences led to a harrowing ordeal ~ kidnapped, she was sexually, physically & emotionally abused by a group of Somalian rebels. During this terrifying time, Amanda displayed immense resilience and bravery, suffering tremendous #guilt for causing her family & friends months of anguish #HardLessons 😢😭😢
TrishB A tough read! 7y
LeeRHarry This book drove me insane - I couldn't get past the fact that I found her so selfish at times - who puts their family through that? Anyway I'm getting down off my soapbox now.....😏 7y
Cinfhen I totally agree, I didn't even have enough characters to mention the ex boyfriend....I wont diminish what she went through but poor judgement is an understatement @LeeRHarry 😣 7y

emilyhaldi I have to say I can already tell this would be a tough read for me due to the #poorjudgement aspect 😏 that just annoys me BEYOND 7y
EchoLogical This post is giving me mixed feelings about this book. Lol. To stack or not to stack? 🤔😆 7y
Cinfhen It's pretty brutal @EchoLogical what got me through was that picture of Amanda, a beautiful strong young woman who survived such a horrific ordeal. But there were too many instances when I wanted to shake her @emilyhaldi ~ it's like she was intentionally courting danger 7y
Aleida I kept thinking of what a coward her mate was. 7y
Cinfhen I wasn't a fan @Aleida of the bf but the poor guy got "screwed" ~ she dragged him into hell with her 7y
Aleida Neither of them were at fault. Saying they could've made better choices is akin to saying, maybe she shouldn't have worn that miniskirt. They shouldn't have gone into the frat house. I wouldn't. 7y
