My absolute favorite. Ann Elliot is as Captain Wentworth says, "superior to all others". I love their story of forgiveness and second chances and a swoon worthy love letter doesn't hurt either. ?

This novel is a little different from the other book we've read so far in the #janeaustenreadalong. The heroine, Anne Eliot, is a little older at 27 yrs. and it's 8 years since she turned down the love her life. Due to circumstances they met again, and the story unfolds.

In this story, we met the most stupidest of parents so far in an Austen novel, namely Mr. Eliot. Words can't express his actions and behavior towards Anne and others.

AnneCecilie And Anne's sister, Elisabeth, is no better than their father. She's even more stupid than Lizzy's two youngest sisters in P&P. But Elisabeth is close to 30 yrs, so what are her excuse? #persuasionreadalong (edited) 6y
