One more for today...a book I use with my secondary students, despite its obvious target being much younger. I love how fun it is to explore a story in map form. It is a great way to get students thinking about not just setting, but how the characters *interact* with the setting over time #genius #notjustforkids
pickMy son (10 years) and I both loved this little book about a gorilla stuck in a small cage in a mall until a baby elephant comes along giving him the motivation to try to get out of his small domain. The story of Ivan in captivating, engrossing and best of all based on a true story.
Got this yesterday, and both my daughter and I couldn't put it down! She's done with it, and I'm about 2/3 of the way through. So good! #notjustforkids
