The only reason I picked up this book is because the author is the developer of NationStates, an online simulator I play 😂 Anyway, It‘s a thriller story about parallel dimensions which is a pretty unique premise. I liked the characters too but the writing style didn‘t really engage me. Idk why. Maybe because it‘s not very descriptive? Anyway, it‘s a decent novel but I didn‘t find it particularly immersive.

Legends from the End of Time | Michael Moorcock

(1976) Three stories from Moorcock's "End of Time" series, set in a distant post-scarcity future whose practically-immortal inhabitants spend their days in luxury. In the first, a character longs to feel the ancient sensation of guilt; second, a squad of starship troopers appears just as dueling is being revived; in the third, a time traveler arrives from an era of extreme austerity. These are clever, tightly-crafted stories and I liked them much.

Another multiversey, quantummy fast-paced sci fi thriller from Blake Crouch.

I say "another" - this was his first, I just read Recursion first. I'd probably have loved this even more if it had been my entry into his writing.

As with Recursion, this packed a huge emotional punch. Recommended for sci fi and thriller lovers, but expect to be hit in the feels. Repeatedly.

“It‘s a heartfelt story of a devoted husband who defies fate, attempting to find the one universe where his wife is still alive.

It‘s a thrilling ride, filled with suspense, emotion, and thought-provoking ideas.”

I really thought I knew how my best books for the first half of the year were gonna go and it involved Alexandra Rowland going head to head but then The Stars Too Fondly came in and knocked everything else out of the park! I strongly suspect it will be my favorite book of the year. #topread2024 #readingbracket2024 @CSeydel

This was a twisty turny mystery/thriller. Journalist Felicity covers the murder of Madison May & gets a little too close to the investigation. She ends up in a parallel universe where Maddie gets killed again, before Felicity is in another same but different world. She resolves to get to the bottom of her travels & save Madison from her serial killer. This was an interesting premise & I liked how it switched between the povs of Felicity & Maddie

peanutnine I probably wouldn't have picked this up normally, but it was a bookclub pick. I really enjoyed the audio 5mo
