I‘m posting one book a day from my massive collection. No description, no reason for why I want to read it.

Pickpick

Great book! Definitely an early work of his, not quite into his stride on writing style/story cadence as some of his later works like Jurassic park, but very interesting and a quick read. Professionals diver gets hired by seedy group to recover articles from sunken boat...and gets tangled in their web. 8/10 would recommend

A diver is hired to investigate a suspicious boat accident, but when he leaves one day earlier than expected to investigate the area, he finds the boat is still afloat. It begs the question: is this a case of insurance fraud, or is it deeper than that? Just what, exactly, has he gotten himself into? Great so far!

1. I think I‘m average but slightly above average for my age group with the caveat of being that way with technology I enjoy like video editing and photo software.
2. Tagged + I love what I call techno thrillers (is that a real genre?). I read a lot of authors like Blake Crouch, James Rollins, and Michael Crichton that use technology in their stories. I find these kinds of books fun and exciting.

TheSpineView Great line up of books! Thanks for playing! 1y
BethM Almost like a sci-fi thriller without the space opera. My fave! 1y
Avanders Oooh I think I refer to those as techie sci fi — probably the same genre! Love them - right at the top of my list! 😍 1y
MaleficentBookDragon Hi @Avanders ! Long time no talk. How are things with you? I have A LOT to tell you. I‘ll text you soon. 1y
Avanders I knooooow - I can‘t believe how much time keeps on passing! 🫨 Things are better now, though, than they were last year, which was a brutal year! Definitely look forward to hearing from you soon! ♥️ 1y

Mehso-so

I listened to the audio and it mostly held my attention. I actually found John‘s home life pretty amusing, particularly the fighting siblings (that was pretty realistic – lol!). Was interesting reading now, in 2023, about Crichton‘s speculation of artificial intelligence back in 2002

Pickpick

This book took a while to get going, but once it did it took off in true Crichton style. I had to crack up at the scenes of the stay at home dad fielding calls from his fighting kids while trying to save the world.

This is the final book in my 2023 #ReadingUSA challenge. If you‘d like to see the full round up it‘s here: http://www.allthebooksihaventread.com/blog-1/2023/12/28/i-read-a-book-set-in-eac...

Pickpick

I haven‘t read any of Crichton‘s crime novels before so I randomly picked up this one. I enjoyed it, but it possibly could have been a bit longer. A diver is hired to recover items from a yacht sunk off the coast of Jamaica. This should be simple for an expert diver like McGregor, but not everything is adding up and danger is everywhere. I think this will work for #Booked2023 #SunshineNoir or I guess I‘m saying it does. 😂

Ruthiella I think it totally works for Sunshine Noir! 👍 2y
