Overall, I quite enjoyed the concepts and ideas on which the book is based, however found the writing itself to be a little.. “lacking”. I found the pace of the book hard to track and feel as though this could have been better utilized by Provost to create a more gripping storyline. There were also quite a few cringe-worthy moments and phrases. It‘s a quick, fun little read but definitely not in my top picks.

I‘ve been thinking about trying out the #popsugar reading challenge this year and thought I‘d finally kick it off with this little gem. According to the back cover, “Minerva Rus can raise the dead”. Not sure if that counts as a super power, but I‘m taking it! ‘A book about someone with a superpower‘ starts now 📖
