My not so calm and collected reading buddy. He is tired. And when he is tired his demons take the wheel and he likes to play “scratch and bite”. He really is like an over tired toddler who should have taken a nap half an hour ago.

Doing some reading before bed and this little man is cuddled next to me. This used to be Lessie‘s place. It‘s nice he is doing it now too,
Started reading this in bed last night. So far so good.
Still ignoring all my part read novels for non fiction on #kindle.
Christmas shopping season seems to have triggered my anti consumerist mindset lol.
This is the 3rd edition from 2014. Still has plenty of relevance but will be behind the ever increasing curve, given the horrors of Tik Tok shop, Stanley Cup frenzy etc
Borrow this from a library if you can, skim it for what applies and ignore the rest. I liked the authors‘ attitude but recognize that some things won‘t work everywhere. For example, in a lot of places in America, you just can‘t reliably get to work without a car. I‘m lucky to use the bus but it‘s not possible in so many places! I appreciated other ideas though and am glad I borrowed this.
“A life liberally strewn with satisfying mini-challenges” Haven‘t finished this yet but so far so good! I like the authors‘ attitude and approach!
I can only say nice things about this book. I really enjoyed reading it and loved reading about the authors little valley over the seasons. The one thing that really stood out is when she said you do no need to love yourself to be worthy of love. So often we are told that unless we love ourself then we can not be loved….this isn‘t correct…maybe it‘s through others love we can heal and learn to love ourselves.
I was so hoping I would enjoy this, but we are a neurodivergent family and I couldn‘t even get past the forward. Which is ok. This book will be beneficial for others, but I find it hard to continue a book once rubbed the wrong way.
