Scholarly but very readable. I enjoyed this look at Tudor women, focusing on the wives, yes, but also others of the era. There are a lot of characters to keep straight in Henry VIII‘s court, but it gets easier with each book I read.

Not ready to stop reading about the Tudors after The Mirror and the Light, so I‘m hoping these 3, plus the tagged book not pictured, will scratch that itch. #bookhaul

Not a lot of reading this week but since I‘m resolved to not be a Litsy stranger again … BEHOLD my triumph over a skirting board! 🤣 This wretched thing was glued, nailed, painted and carpeted in. It took two days, a plant lever, half my tool box and the invention of a number of new expletives to get it loose but now the cabinet that‘s going there will fit flush to the wall (after I deal with the TV antenna) 🥳🥳🥳🥳
Fictional life of Henry 8's first wife from when she first arrived in England.
Interesting between the death of Prince Arthur and the death of Henry 7. Rather slow at times in the middle (all the does he/doesn't he still love me?) but excellent once the King's Great Matter got started and the story of the last part of her life was heartbreaking. Having read this I do wonder how the author can possibly make Anne Boleyn a sympathetic character.
@sebrittainclark tells me all the books in my recent #libraryhaul have something in common, but I can't imagine what.
I thought this book had a great concept; six different authors recounting the lives of Henry VIII wives, another author to recount Henry's side of each story. I wanted to like this book but, I did not. The stories just did not flow. I struggled getting through the stories, the recount of Henry's part felt like it was just a repeat. There was nothing exciting about this book, I would recommend a big pass on this one.
