A Question of Blood | Ian Rankin

A very good installment in the Inspector Rebus series, in which Rebus investigates a school shooting that involves a family connection.

Zuhkeeyah Congrats on catching all the pokemon! 1mo
kwmg40 @Andrew65 @bookaholic1 I agree. I've been reading this series mostly in order so far, though I've had to skip a couple that weren't easily accessible to me, and I appreciate the development of Rebus's character and his relationships with those around him. 1mo
kwmg40 @Zuhkeeyah Thanks! I really enjoyed the Pokemon challenge this year and look forward to the 2025 challenge. @PuddleJumper 1mo

I love Rebus. This didn‘t disappoint. However I had a hard time keeping track of who was who. But it was okay, it all worked out in the end and I understood it all. Loved the ending. 😊. The last sentence.

This installment of the Inspector Rebus series has Rebus sent for “retraining“ among other problematic police officers and involves several complex storylines.

Thanks for the tag @TheSpineView

1. Jaws
2. On Saturdays my sister and I would spend a large part of our day either playing barbies or using the tape recorder for singing/interviews! and
hide and seek in the dark - all the kids on the street would get together and play this in the summer
3. tagged - doesn't involve a game but title is a game

Make a great day everyone 🙂

TheSpineView You're welcome! 7mo
Eggs #2 - how fun 🤩 7mo
bthegood @Eggs in my neighborhood a few younger families have moved in and their children play outside a lot - I love seeing and hearing that! 7mo

Eggs @bthegood great memories of playing at twilight on our block 5-7 kids on summer nights! During daytime, about 8-10 girls - we would bring our Barbies/Kens and play on the grass in back yard 💖 7mo

A low pick for me. I'm not as fond of the Rebus books that focus on the gang wars in Edinburgh but it was still a good mystery.

Not the tagged book, but by the same author of the Rebus series.

I'm trying to read some shortish books to complete 2023 challenges - this leaves me with one prompt to fill for #popsugar23. This does #publishedinthesecondhalfof2023.

Mehso-so

I wasn‘t the hugest fan of knots and crosses but I found it gripping and this whole series has the audiobooks available through my library so I imagine I‘ll end up reading more of them. I find Rebus a bit more on the annoying side of gritty than the cool side and the homophobia, while period accurate for the 80s I guess, isn‘t my fave. #scarathlon #skeletoncrew

What could be better than heading to Edinburgh with another episode in Rebus‘s life.

Rebus is always a good read. This one shows a bit of his family that we haven‘t seen before, and he reckons a bit with the impact of the army on soldiers‘ lives. This one does show its age in the technology (laptops plugged into the phone line to get internet) but the investigation techniques are timeless.
