Actually got this 11 years ago from my first employer right after college and never got around to reading it. I do think it would‘ve been beneficial if I had. But I enjoyed contrasting it to what I‘ve experienced in the corporate world so far. The author had some good advice

Well. I‘ve been applying to jobs since last September and not A ONE had called me back. I pick up this hot little number after hearing about it on social media. I read it, it‘s a good pep talk and reframing of how I present myself on the job market & an update of what is permissible format now. I‘ve been applying to 2 jobs per week since April unemployment & BAM, the week after I finish this book, I got a call back!

I liked her approach of self-confidence and valuing of the hustle. Often, the nervy if being a go-getter gets no love. And she had interesting tips and tons of examples, but I guess I‘m not completely the right audience, as I tend toward more independent work situations than jobs...obviously, STILL FIGURING IT OUT! But this was an easy and encouraging read. It‘ll go on the bottom for a while til I want to brush up again.
