I've been reading the tagged book while dealing with nerve pain, a kidney stone & now a spot of skin cancer. The quirky, silly characters keep me giggling. #LitsyLoveBingo #WhatsNewWednesday

Mixed feelings with this one. It is not a great mystery story and it has some religious content which is not my thing. However, I liked the gothic atmosphere how it was described. There were something in the story tone that I liked. Those music scenes were delighted you, could felt that love for the music. But the mystery was in some aspects absurd. Gissy (Cont.) ...an unknown woman her father left under her care after he died. Who is this woman and what is the relationship with her? She could the solicitor but no, she just took another identity to enter into the asylum🙄

The book is a beautiful edition with sprayed/designed pages and pretty end pages. The gifs inside the subscription box were practical: two mugs, a blanket and candles.

Pickpick

I enjoyed this story of a young woman who gets sent by the museum she works for to an estate along the river to catalog a stuffed bird collection. It was pleasant historical fiction, and I can‘t say I‘ve ever read about an ornithologist before. I liked how the author worked the flu pandemic, WWI, and polio into the story. (I received this ARC from library thing early reviewers.)

Aims42 I‘m glad you enjoyed this!! I‘m starting it tonight after bailing on another read. Hoping a reading slump isn‘t on the horizon 🫣🤞 5mo
