Ruthiella I‘ve never read any thing from her. Recommendations? 2mo
Leftcoastzen @Ruthiella I‘ve only read the first 6 of the Gaslight Mysteries, the series begins with 2mo
Leftcoastzen @Ruthiella why I like them is the main character leaves a Wharton society type situation to be a midwife. Thompsons descriptions of New York in that era are vivid . 2mo
Deblovestoread Sad to hear this! I love the series and just recently finished the latest one. 2mo

Pickpick

Midwife Sarah B. Malloy & her Detective husband,Frank Molloy are tasked with a murder to solve when their ex-gangster friend Jack Robinson goes to them, worried he will be targeted as the murderer for reasons he wishes to keep from society‘s eyes. The prominent society banker who is murdered is despised & hated all over the city for his despicable deeds. This is a tale of how one man‘s violent behavior wreaked havoc in the lives of people.🔽

kspenmoll 🔼 with a multitude of possible suspects to investigate, the Malloys must call on all their resources in both the upper echelon of the city, & its squalid streets to untangle this murder. #gaslightmystery #serieslove2024 4mo

The 2nd book in the Gaslight Mystery series (#SeriesLove2024). This time Sarah gets involved in the world of the “Charity Girls”, trying to help a client determine who murdered her sister. The mystery was good, but what is wonderful about these novels is the evolution of Sarah and Frank‘s relationship. I look forward to the next in the series.

TheSpineView Fantastic! 7mo

Someone is murdering young girls, but no one really cares because they are girls with “bad reputations.” Sarah gets angry about the injustice and sets out to solve the murders. The story was interesting but I knew who the murderer was VERY early. Sarah and Frank, though, not the stories, are the reasons to keep reading this series. Picked up Ordinary Grace again. #audiowalk

I put aside Ordinary Grace for a bit because this book is only available on Audible Plus until 9/12. I like Sarah, but she is naive. And Frank! He‘s so resistant to any kind of help from anyone for anything! He just makes everything harder on himself. I think I know the murderer all ready, but I could be wrong. #audiowalk

March #BookSpinBingo I don‘t anticipate having much reading time but I definitely want to read The Tea Girl of Hummingbird Lane to finish #Booked2022 and my two #Bookspins, and my #LMPBC The Silence of Girls.

BkClubCare Very pretty layout for March🍀 3y

The storylines all entertain me. I love how this author presents old New York City and does not shy away from the dark side. So good!

Yes I‘ve binged this. It was all I could do for the past week and it really gave me moments of respite. I love this series.

megnews I‘ve read a couple of these and need to get back to this series 3y
Deblovestoread I received the first in the series in my winter solstice swap. Your posts have moved it to the top of my TBR. 😊 3y
Avanders How‘re you feeling?? 💙 3y

Avanders Ps my friend said tons of water and Gatorade (and rest of course) helped her get through… hope you‘re on the upswing! 3y
Chrissyreadit @megnews join me in the dark side of NYC 😘 3y
Chrissyreadit @Kdgordon88 yay!! I hope you love it too! 3y
Chrissyreadit @Avanders I will try Gatorade- thank you! I‘m drinking seltzer and diet ginger ale at moment. I‘m feeling better, but still exhausted and not able to leave my bed for more than 15 minutes or so. I‘m anxious to return to work but my body won‘t cooperate 🤣thank you for asking 😘❤️😘 3y
Avanders Glad you‘re starting to feel better .. it sounds like your experiences are really similar to my friend, who is *very* immunocompromised (and we were *stunned* she got it bc she‘s the most careful never-going-anywhere person I know!), so hopefully your fatigue begins to fade soon… that was the last thing that lingered for her too 🙏🏽🙏🏽♥️ 3y

Chrissyreadit @wanderinglynn this weather has everything hurting and exhausted- I fell asleep from 3 ish to 8pm then was up until about 1. My body feels like it was hit by a truck #arthritisstinks I wish my joints would stay in their sockets too. 3y
Chrissyreadit @tpixie there are about 18 books in this series now- I‘m glad I found it. When it‘s hard to focus from pain and I need to study, these are fast easy reads I can put down and pick up. 3y
Chrissyreadit @RaeLovesToRead I agree! The cover of this book is great- and very atmospheric of the storyline too. 3y
wanderinglynn Oh no! I‘m so sorry. I hope the weather clears & you are pain-free soon 💚 3y
tpixie @Chrissyreadit certain weather is horrible for the joints!! I‘m so sorry you are suffering now. My father-in-law would tell you to drink Knox gelatin ( which is derived from collagen) and take omega-3 fatty acid! 3y
Chrissyreadit @tpixie I do take a plant based Omega3, and have to go back to turmeric- sometimes I forget to take stuff….. 😘😘😘 3y
tpixie @Chrissyreadit I always keep meaning to take turmeric and keep forgetting!! Do you know how much you‘re supposed to take? 3y
Chrissyreadit @tpixie I take the Jarrow formula of curcumin 95 on Amazon and take 2-4 a day, but have taken as many as 6 a day- and felt more relief than pain medicine (I was prescribed methotrexate 5-6 years ago and was horribly sick from it- turmeric was much better) I literally forget to take it when I‘m feeling better. I also like turmeric tea- which will be today‘s beverage of choice. 3y
tpixie @Chrissyreadit thanks! Pain is terrible 😞 (edited) 3y
Chrissyreadit @tpixie I hope it helps you😘 3y
