Very busy & long day! I went on a 13 hour tour to the Cliffs of Moher, The Burren and #Galway. The sights and nature were spectacular and we got really lucky with the weather (some sun, no rain and lots of wind). In Galway, I found this lovely indy bookstore and I got 3 non-fiction novels about Ireland (famine, murders and pirates!).

This is an excellent detective/crime story with a fantastic narrator. More so than any other audiobook I‘ve listened to, I envisioned it so clearly like a movie the whole time I was listening.

My 10th from the Booker longlist was wonderful! I came in with no expectations and was rewarded with an inspiring story. A novel about an autistic boy who misses the mother he never knew, working out a device for perpetual motion; and a school teacher in a bad marriage exhausted by her dysfunctional all-boys school, yet fully committed to it. A novel of the children of missing parents, some grown, stumbling through life. Recommended! #booker2023

If you‘re looking for an excellent mystery with suspense, betrayal, and corruption, I highly recommend The Ruin by Dervla McTiernan. It‘s the first installment of the Cormac Reilly Mystery series. I purchased the audiobook from Audible. I loved the beautiful narration by Aoife McMahon. I could listen to her all day!

The reader was great in this book! DI Cormac Reilly has transferred to Galway because of his girlfriends work. The atmosphere at the Garda is strange. He's assigned a cold case that he witnessed 20 years ago. Aisling's boyfriend Jack has committed suicide, his long lost sister Maude returns convinced it was murder. And the cold case revolves around Maude's mothers death.
A really good start to this series! I'll definitely read the next one!
