That's right kids, be comfortable with your personal preferences and don't let the world dictate what you should be, or else the (body) HORRORS will be visited upon thee! 🤦🏼‍♂️ Camilla's transformation was unsettling but entertaining, but the way this author/illustrator paints people in general does not work for me. Do not think I'll be investigating his other work.

Cuilin As a 25+ years preschool/K teacher, can‘t say I like his books either. 5mo
Robotswithpersonality @Cuilin Vindication! 😃 Hey, who knows, maybe there's one little kid who became a successful horror writer after being spookily inspired so early. 😅 4mo
Cuilin @Robotswithpersonality you always hope that the right book finds its way to the right person. He was just not for me or my classroom. 🫶 4mo
Robotswithpersonality @Cuilin Agreed! Valid. 4mo

Yes, I do believe I would scream too.
Has David Shannon considered writing horror? 🫣

I appreciate the levels of creativity evident in such a surreal concoction, but was no one afraid they might traumatize the demographic that typically reads picture books?! 😬

1. 📚 📺 Behind Her Eyes the book and the series on Netflix are great.
2. Caramel Apples - all kinds
3. Whenever the mood strikes really but I probably read more when the kid is asleep lol 🌙
4. These lovey Litsy events of course 😉 and the fact that Texas very briefly stops acting as an agent of Satan 🥵 (currently still waiting 😂)
5. My handle uses my middle name, Marie which I share with half the planet I‘m sure 🥱

#BatBrigade

ravenlee #5 😆 My paternal grandmother was very upset (for years) at my mother for naming me Anne Christine instead of Anne Marie. My mom didn‘t know my grandmother had lost a baby Ann Marie between my dad and his sister Mariann. My grandmother was still mad at me years later for having the audacity not to have Marie as my middle name! 1y
Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick Agent of Satan! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 1y
MatchlessMarie @ravenlee I admire the level of petty but it stinks that you were the target. My first name was actually sloppy seconds from my sister who was originally going to be named Amanda. My parents thought it was too popular at the time (1986) and held on to it 2 years later for me. I am going to credit the Boston song Amanda for that 😂 1y

MatchlessMarie @Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick We are not ok 🌵🤠🤣 1y
Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick I help with group related inquires for our San Antonio hotel, and I feel like they've been telling me how hot it is for the last 10 months. It's been about a year since I've visited, so it was hot, but not Satan's Scrotum hot. 1y
Catsandbooks Oof yeah that heat has been terrible! I'm in MS and it's been bad, but not as bad as you guys 🥵 1y
MatchlessMarie @Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick I think Arizona probably has us beat, but we still have highs in the 90s for the next several days. I think what makes us feel more feral is that our energy grid is so unstable it has a hard time handling extreme temperatures compared to the rest of the country. 1y

I need more books like this in my life.

The narrator was engaging & felt one with the content.

A boy joins the IT crowd at school & is afraid they‘ll find out his secret, he eats poop, not only eats it but loves it. Soon lessons are learned.

1 - don‘t be afraid of letting your inner light shine.

2 - you‘re not alone in your weirdness.

3 - bugs are more interesting than you think.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 👇🏻

Twainy It‘s short, funny, informative, right up my alley. If you‘re an adult you might find the list at the end of the book interesting. The things that bugs do, who knew?! 2y
MemoirsForMe I must read this! 😁 2y
Reggie Sounds fascinating! Stacked! 2y
Twainy @Reggie @UwannaPublishme You two! 😁 🤗 this 15 minute audiobook was informative for a children‘s book. Then again, I‘m not a bug fan so learned something new there 😆♥️ Merry Christmas 🎄 2y

This is about a young girl who is very ill. The type of illness she has is very odd, because it continues to change her skin into different colors and patterns. She is very upset about this change that is happening to her. She doesn't want to be seen anywhere. However, she learns to love the skin that she is in eventually. This is a story that teaches confidence and self-worth. It is a great read and has a great lesson.
