"The bridge I must be
Is the bridge to my own power
I must translate
My own fears
Mediate
My own weakness
I must be the bridge to nowhere
But my true self
And then
I will be useful"

I like this quote. Just started reading a copilation of extracts from Beauvoir's 'The Second Sex'. You can find this line within the first four pages. However I stopped to think about it. I like how, to my undertanding, it means that someone is not a women because of their gender but rather because of the use of the word itself. #feminism #feministquotes
A MUST READ! And quick too. This essay by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie summarizes in 50 pages what feminism is, how people undertands it and how much we need it in our everyday lives. Everytime I talk about feminism, especially with other young women, I have to explain why calling yourself a feminist is not a bad thing. If you still think the word feminism has bad connotations, please read this. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️#feminism #feministquotes
