Have this on the tbr at home - recommended by @LeahBergen - I hadn‘t heard of this one though I‘ve read all her others. She‘s a brilliant historical writer and her Brothers of Gwynedd quartet is brilliant.

Cinfhen It must be brilliant if @LeahBergen recommend ❤️how‘s holiday??? 6y
TrishB Lovely 💕 I‘m having my quiet read before everyone gets up. Pot of tea and silence! Gets me through the rest of the family mayhem! 6y

The Dragon at Noonday | Edith Pargeter
Pickpick

I found this one a bit harder to get into than the first book, but it ended up bring a good read nonetheless. And having seen Simon de Montfort from this perspective, I will be interested to read Sharon Kay Penman's Welsh Princes trilogy.

TrishB Loved these - but Penman's Welsh trilogy is completely awesome 😀 8y
rabbitprincess @TrishB Looking forward to swapping series with my mum! She is reading Penman while I am reading Pargeter 😄 8y
TrishB @rabbitprincess they are very different styles, but still great 8y
rwmg How do the Welsh books compare with Cadfael? 8y
rabbitprincess @TrishB Interesting! @rwmg I've read only one Cadfael and probably like this series better. But I would chalk it up to personal preference; for some reason I find books about monks boring on some level. 8y

Easy choice for me today: the Brothers of Gwynedd! The Dragon at Noonday is up next for me.

LeahBergen 👏🏻👏🏻 8y
rabbitprincess @LeahBergen Hoping to get back to Gwynedd once I've read book 5 in the Poldark series. There's a year-long group read on LibraryThing and I'm just joining for books 5 and 6, which should also be the ground covered by Series 3 of the Aidan Turner version 😊 8y

Sunrise in the West | Edith Pargeter
Pickpick

A very good book and one that feels lke it is playing a long game. I think the quartet could easily be read as one long book, but the division into four makes it more manageable. Also, not too much technical detail of battle and no gratuitous naughty scenes! Yay!

TrishB Mine is one long book - all 4 in one massive copy 😀 weighed a ton carrying it round! 8y
rabbitprincess @TrishB I can imagine! Great way to do weight training though 😉💪🏼📚 8y
Melissa_J @rabbitprincess @TrishB I've got the quartet in one large volume, too! Still haven't read it though... 8y

LeahBergen @Melissa_J @TrishB @rabbitprincess Have any of you read her Heaven Tree trilogy? One of my faves! (edited) 8y
Melissa_J @LeahBergen I haven't. I'm adding it to my TBR now 👍🏻 8y
TrishB @LeahBergen @Melissa_J yes, I love that too. I wish she'd written more straight historical stuff - i.e. not the mystery series! 8y
rabbitprincess @LeahBergen Adding to the TBR as well! 8y
TrishB @LeahBergen so that one's on its way now.....👍 I have read A Bloody Field by Shrewsbury but didn't realise she'd done another one! 😀 8y
LeahBergen @TrishB Did you just order a copy? 😂 I found a nice used paperback online. 8y
rabbitprincess Hee hee the #blameitonlitsy is strong here 😉 @LeahBergen @TrishB @Melissa_J The TBR is growing in leaps and bounds! 8y
TrishB @LeahBergen a good as new hard back for £1.30 - large print - so I just won't need my glasses 😂😂 8y
LeahBergen @TrishB Perfect!! 😂 8y
