This is an odd book, but a very imaginative tale. It‘s a pretty slow unfolding of events, but not necessarily boring. It‘s hard to pin it to a genre, it‘s mystery, romance fantasy and adventure.
I liked the feminist stance towards the end.

A childhood favorite. My friend and I tried to write our own book (just like the two friends in Brink's book) about two friends who visit a dude ranch because, of course, we knew everything about growing up on a dude ranch and meeting some cowboys! 🤠🤠
I loved the illustrations of this #PictureBook —perfect color choices, and the illustrations truly made the story come alive. The story itself was just okay—good message, the importance of believing in yourself, but the word choices seemed geared more for older kids who may not be willing to read a picture book. #BBRC #LetterA
This is a reprint of a 1994 book chronicling Barbie‘s place sociologically in society, the history of her conception, and a bit of business history of Mattel. The only update is a new preface based on the Barbie movie. Still, it‘s an interesting book — just don‘t expect all the info to be updated.
