Finished this, again. I read it every year. One of my favorite devotionals.

A different type of devotional...Achingly honest, uplifting, The "devos" often focusing on the comfort of gathering around food. I would actually disagree with calling this a devotional book, it's more a collection of mini essays, journal like. This is not my favorite Shauna Niequist book but I did enjoy many of the stories and I finished early so that I can pass along to someone else to start on the first of the year.
Two people can be part of the same event, but one may choose to live it quite differently from the other. One may choose to trust that what happened, painful as it may be, holds a promise. The other may choose despair and be destroyed by it. What makes us human is precisely this freedom of choice.
Great choice for our family Advent devotion this year. Enjoyed this with my husband and teens. We read the last entry before opening gifts this morning.
I ordered this today. Advent begins Sunday, November 28. We enjoyed her Lent Devotional this year and trust this one to be worthwhile as well.
