For today‘s #DebutByIndigenousAuthor prompt, I‘m going with this debut collection of stories written by an author who is “Japanese and Native Hawaiian with deep Moloka‘i roots” according to Honolulu Magazine.
It‘s being published on 8/29 & I pre-ordered it last month through my local indie bookstore in part because I love the cover & they were offering a limited supply of the corpse flower enamel pins with pre-orders. 🤷🏻♀️

THINGS FALL APART, a story depicting the life of the Igbo people in pre-colonial Africa was the debut novel (1958) and magnum opus of Chinua Achebe and is still one of the most widely read, studied, and translated African novels in the world. It's also one of my faves.
#BookBinge #DebutbyIndigenousAuthor Her first novel was Ceremony ,her first published volume is this 35 page Chapbook of poetry that is scarce & pricey on AbeBooks!
