My print tbr for August's #Rushathon. The six on the left are my #ARCs that I want to finish. The four on the right are just a few of my #BOTMs. I'd love to finish all of these, but I probably won't.

Andrew65 More great choices. 1y

Daisy Jones & The Six | Taylor Jenkins Reid

Winner of #botm‘s Lolly award 2019 is...the tagged (Daisy Jones)

I personally felt the characters, other than Daisy and Billy, were really one-dimensional, but I‘m in the minority not loving this.

Anyway, congratulations TJR! 🎉🍾

And yes, the ceremony on insta was filmed with like an iPhone 4 or something!!

KatieDid927 Disappointed that this book keeps winning so many awards when it‘s so incredibly mediocre. 5y
Megabooks @KatieDid927 Thank you! I agree!! I would‘ve preferred A Woman Is No Man! 5y
KT1432 Lol I don't wanna get kicked off Litsy but I stopped following both the Goodreads awards and the BOTM awards because I knew exactly who was going to win.😬 This one still has me scratching my head. I clearly missed something because I was not invested at all. 5y

rachelm I loved the audiobook. It was amaaaazing 5y
KT1432 @rachelm see...I missed something. I did the audiobook too! 😩😩😩 5y
rachelm @lele1432 ah well! There are some books I just didn‘t click with either this year! 5y
Megabooks @lele1432 I was into it when they picked invisible furies in 2017, but I am usually disappointed in the lolly and always the goodreads! 5y
Megabooks @rachelm I listened to audio as well. I like a full cast recording, but I still think the characters were flat. 5y
britt_brooke This was a 2-star “so-so” for me. Hated the characters, but appreciated the audio production. I‘d rather read an oral history of a real band. 5y
marleed I loved this book but it may say something of my age. I thought it caught the 70s rock n roll era brilliantly. 5y
KatieDid927 @Megabooks Uggggh yessss. That‘s what got my Goodreads vote. 5y
Cinfhen So NOT surprised! I gave this book a so-so rating too and didn‘t think it lived up to the hype. I agree with you @lele1432 5y
Megabooks @britt_brooke totally agree (shocker 😉😉) 5y
Megabooks @marleed it did feel like those 70s Behind the Music‘s done only the 90s on audio. 5y
Megabooks @KatieDid927 Me too! Loved it!! 5y
Megabooks @Cinfhen I guess the Daisy lovers didn‘t like my post because the Meh-ers gave definitely shown up!! 😂😂 5y
BarbaraBB I agree with you on Daisy and the two awards. Way too predictable! (edited) 5y
Cinfhen Oh well, us trend thrashers will just have to keep on doing us!!! Although, if im being honest I didn‘t really like this one either. I thought it was cliche and I found the writing and story development weak 😬😬😬 5y
CarolynM I'm usually a bit of an outlier so I am rarely a fan of things that win popular votes. I agree with you about Daisy, I think my review said "entertaining but forgettable". 5y
Megabooks @BarbaraBB yup 👎🏻👎🏻 5y
Megabooks @Cinfhen I liked it 🤷🏻‍♀️ AWINM, Ask Again Yes, The Buried, and Beyond the Point were my four favorite of the monthly choices. Nothing to See Here and Normal People were great, too. Of the add ons I loved On the Clock and With the Fire on High. Honorable mentions to The Players Ball, Norco 80, and Bitcoin Billionaires. (edited) 5y
Megabooks @CarolynM for me it was, “it was fine. Nothing to write home about.” Even the good voice actors weren‘t enough to pull it from the depths of mediocrity for me. 5y
Cinfhen Thanks for all your suggestions!!! I still haven‘t read a BUNCH of my #BOTMs from this year, so I‘m not sure which are my favorites. I own The Buried but haven‘t read it yet and Bitcoin Billionaires & Players Ball are on my TBR. I did like Ask Again, Yes but I‘m not sure it would make my favorite list🤷🏼‍♀️ 5y
MicheleinPhilly Blah. I knew this would win. I‘ve given up getting invested in this type of award because my favorites never win. I didn‘t even cast any votes for the GR awards. What‘s the point? 👎🏼 5y
Megabooks @Cinfhen it was a good year for BOTM. 2018 was so iffy. I feel like they really got back on track to almost as good as they were in 2017. (I‘ll always have a special place for 17!) I‘m sometimes confused by the add ons, and I feel the add on NF has generally been better than monthly NF. But overall, I know I‘ll usually get a pick when I read a BOTM choice. The major ones I didn‘t like this year were Three Women, Wild Game, & Lock Every Door. 5y
Megabooks @MicheleinPhilly it‘s true. I know a lot of people vote for books on their TBR shelf because cousin Susan says it‘s a must read. The only Lolly I‘ve 100% agreed with is 5y
Megabooks @Cinfhen oh and Queenie was really good!! Forgot that was a BOTM choice. Don‘t believe the black Bridget Jones shit. Definitely a deeper, more nuanced book than Bridget. Looks at racism and dating and has a lot deeper family exploration. 5y
Cinfhen Im actually really excited for Wild Game. Just waiting to read it for #Booked2020 #ParentChildMemoir (edited) 5y
Megabooks @Cinfhen I hope you enjoy it more than I did!! 5y
Reviewsbylola 🤯🤯 I shouldn‘t be shocked but I am. I read this one in England and was so not impressed that I left it at our Airbnb. I didn‘t even ask to see if my family members wanted it. 🤣 5y
Megabooks @Reviewsbylola lol that‘s fantastic!! 😂😂😂 5y
Crazeedi I enjoyed it, mostly because I'm a 70s girl, but there were other books I read this year much much better 5y
Megabooks @Crazeedi I can see it‘s appeal, especially if you loved 70s music. It definitely had that VH1 Behind the Music feel!! 5y

I got to hear Lisa Ko talk about #TheLeavers tonight! I love hearing an author‘s perspective on his or her book, and the inspiration for the book was very interesting. When she was signing my book, Litsy came up. She has heard of Litsy, but wasn‘t sure what it was exactly so she asked about it. Maybe we‘ll have a new Litten on our hand 😉

Reviewsbylola So cool! I loved this book. 7y
theokiereader @Reviewsbylola It was one of my favorite #botms of the year! 7y
MinDea Awesome! I have this on my shelf! It sounds very good! 7y
