Pickpick

4⭐️ I really quite enjoyed the book, even though I hadn‘t expected to. Sure the ending was a little predictable but it was still a fun read. This was my #bookspin book for October #2020 #historicalfiction #bookreview #bookstagram #fiction #belgravia

"James nodded. 'I suppose the new houses are more suited to entertaining.' 'So that's how you've made your fortune? Out of people's desire to show off?' Grace knew that Stephen was simply angry that this odd little man should have so much more money than they did, but he would never be honest enough as to say it, even to himself." Melissa_J Is there any particular time period you are looking for recs on? 8y
BooknBooktastic @Melissa_J no! I am interested in all! Currently watching tudors and loving that time period but open to all!! 8y
Melissa_J @BooknBooktastic for WWI-era I recommend The Last Summer by Judith Kinghorn or The Passing Bells by Phillip Rock. Early-to-mid 20th Century Texas I recommend Roses by Leila Meacham. 8y
Melissa_J @BooknBooktastic oh, and for Civil War-era I loved John Jakes' North & South trilogy. 8y
