Thank you for this interesting list, @DebinHawaii! I've read a few already and some, like the four on the right, you might have plucked from my TBR.

I'm looking forward to getting to them in January (and probably throughout next year).

DebinHawaii I‘m glad you like the list! It was tough to keep it to 20, I had a lot of books I really loved this year. I just posted your list & what I‘ll be reading first & I‘m excited. @monalyisha makes such great matches! 🤗 8h

Pickpick

A soft pick - good plot; enjoyable, realistic characters.

I didn't realize until I started this cozy mystery that it's the fifth book in the Lily Adler series. I haven't read the previous books, but I was able to follow the plot line and references to events probably covered previously in the series.

For me, it dragged a bit in the middle; but overall, the plot moved steadily forward. I may go back to the previous books.

The letter looked innocent enough when it arrived, nestled in the stack of the day's correspondence.

1. Took my car in for service because the check engine light was on. I only owed $50 because the car's still under warranty for another few weeks
2. The weather is cooler and windier this week, but at least it was sunny 🌞 ☀️
3. Put my bird feeder out with black oil sunflower seeds. Tufted titmice and black capped chickadees visited
4. Reading a great cozy mystery. Post about it soon
5. Thanksgiving coming

This was fun but nothing amazing. I did enjoy Kausar‘s reveal of how things went down at the end but overall, the book felt long and I had a hard time getting into it.

I had to run to the pharmacy after work & I decided I wanted Raising Cane‘s lemonade (& chicken strips but mainly the lemonade). There were 2 geckos🦎🦎frolicking on the menu sign in the evening darkness. Watching them made me smile & inspired today‘s kind of silly haiku.

ravenlee We had an anole in our garage yesterday, and my husband tried to catch it so he could put it outside safely. It was like watching a cat trying to catch something! Those guys are fast! 😆 I love them. (edited) 2mo

Finished this week for September‘s #Roll100 #95 Any Mystery. I‘m a fan of the author‘s other books, especially her Jane Austen Muslim retellings set in Toronto‘s Golden Crescent. This is her first foray into cozy mysteries & I really enjoyed it. Kausar is a 50-something widow who heads back to Toronto after almost 20 years after her daughter is accused of murder. Loved the characters & the way this one had me guessing.⬇️

DebinHawaii … I‘ll happily read the next one! 2mo
