Velvetfur I only saw the film for the first time about a year and half ago! But I loved the language used, I should read the book one day for more of that 😊 7y

TheNeverendingTBR @brooke_eliz13 I guess you're supposed to pick it up as the story moves along, there's a glossary in the back of my copy with the words meaning; you should try get this copy if yours doesn't have it. It's a brilliant read. I found the language hilarious, I actually read it for the 1st time; reading the book and simultaneously listening to the audio book and the guys accent was that of Alex and it was one of the funniest thing I've experienced. 😂 7y

brooke_eliz13 @trioxin_sematary I‘ll have to give that a try! I have a goal to read my way through the banned books list and I couldn‘t get through the first 50 pages of that one, but I really like the movie so I want to concur it! 7y

Burgess' use of language to represent Alex's mental isolation is absolutely fab! It has so many interesting philosophical debates ranging from the religious to the political, and of course the all important question: 'is it better for a man to have chosen evil than to have good imposed upon him?' Definitely worth a read😄 #aclockworkorange
