This is one of the best books I have ever read, 5 stars. There is plenty of conflict. A father and son have a strained relationship. Then when the mother is assaulted, the son suspects his father. Such a great read.

I thought of this book I reviewed for a book tour in 2018 because one of the 2 MCs, Delilah, is a black woman who faced racism & prejudice from a bi-racial marriage in the 1960s & an abusive spouse. Told in flashbacks & in present, Delilah is now. helping & sheltering other women with abusive relationships-like Tracey, running with her children from her abusive husband.
