BarbaraBB You are reading your first King! Although I liked Misery, The Stand, Mr Mercedes and The Shining, I hated the Outsider so much that I always say I do not enjoy his writing. Looking forward to seeing your thoughts 4y

BarbaraBB For a moment I thought you were being inspired by SK in buying that book ?. But it‘s that male thing he does in his books that I do dislike. The way he describes women but also men themselves. So cliché American, like in some movies. As if all are the same. 4y

Megabooks @BarbaraBB lol!! No no! It was @Lindy ‘s wonderful review of the Japanese novel that made me get it. Not some guy who references every woman by cup size! The characters are very stereotypical. Like so far, if I were rating this as a debut in the 70s, it would be a 3⭐️ pick. I would say that the style is interesting, but the plot development isn‘t quite there yet. Very readable, though. We shall see. 4y
