I'm starting a reading adventure. It's outside of my comfort zone, but Gonzales' reading at #VABook2017 had me hooked. Here's hoping I like the rest of the book as much.

Book mail today! After my trip to #VABook2017, I told myself no new books for a long time. I'd forgotten is preordered this. Lucky me!!!

Well, the writing of this book was gorgeous. I wanted to love it. I read the first 2/3 in two days. Then I took a long ride on the struggle bus to finish it. Based on the author's talk at #VABook2017, I was expecting a pretty big reveal between the two sections. That didn't materialize. I don't understand Linda's motivation and am confused over the purpose. I wanted to love this, but the ending especially made me question why I bothered to finish.

Now I'm going to start my first #VABook2017 read, History of Wolves. I enjoyed Emily Fridlund's panel and because I love the wolf on the front of the hard cover. Here's hoping this book is as excellent as my Book Riot friend waiting in line said it was. She said it was her favorite book so far this year.

This is my book haul from #VABook2017. I need to find them a nice place to display on my bookshelves. Here's to reading them all soon!
