1. The only book I hated was The Alchemist. Normally I just stop reading so no hate develops. But I finished this and wanted to bang my head against the wall. So phony. Don't get me started. 😠😤
2. Lolita
3. Don't care for love triangles
4. Romance
5. Mr. Darcy
6. Stephen King
7. Bad writing!!
8. Twilight, 50 shades
9. Casino Royale

diovival Yes to #1. I read The Alchemist for book club and wasn't a fan. 7y
Gezemice @diovival I just went into the book thread and cringed. People are posting the line "when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it." Which would be beautiful if the boy's dream would be happiness, self-fulfillment or becoming great at something. But he wants to find f*cking treasure. Give me a f*cking break. Phoniest line in the universe. ????? 7y
diovival @Gezemice If only I could transport you back in time to that meeting. It would have been nice to have one more person on the HARD PASS team. 😂 7y

Gezemice @diovival Are you saying they all loved it? 😳😳😳 I have not read it for book club, but many of my Goodreads friends share my view, more or less. 7y
diovival Yep. Most found it inspiring. 🙃 7y
cariashley Ahh I hated Alchemist so much too, had to bail halfway through!! 7y
Gezemice @diovival Inspiring for what? Abandoning your home, your love, your steady job, for a dream about money???? Not even making money, but finding it. 🙄🙄🙄🙄 I know you agree, it just blows my mind that people find this inspiring. 7y
Gezemice @cariashley I finished it, looking for the inspiration people are claiming. But the more I read, the angrier I got. 7y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa Bad writing! Hear Hear!! 7y

@Rachael5248
1. 50 Shades (of whining)
2. The Dexter series
3. Harry Potter and Ginny still just doesn‘t work for me.
4. Young Adult
5. Mr. Darcy. Why is he so inconsiderate?!
6. John Green
7. Kidnapping or abduction
8. Game of Thrones. It‘s such a snooze when something shocking isn‘t happening.
9. Hunger Games

Gezemice Yes to 3 and 5! I do love GoT, however. 7y
heylaurenmack @Gezemice haha. I grew up in the same town the author of GOT is from. I always wonder if I ever saw him around and had no idea. (edited) 7y
Gezemice @heylaurenmack If you see him too much we know why he has not published the sequel. 🙄 7y

Thanks for the tag @Dogearedcopy this was fun!
Anyone else hasn't played? @Jokila @MommaBeja @LaurenReads @Chachic

Zelma Good call on Bridget Jones. Love that movie. Book was ok. 7y
ScientistSam @Zelma that's what I felt about the book. Interestingly I feel the opposite about Edge of Reason - book was better (more my normal opinion anyway!) 7y
moranadatter I'm glad it wasn't just me. The thing that I can never quite articulate about STTC is Zacharias starts the book as the adopted child of a man who purchased him as a slave and ends the book by being bullied into proposing to a woman who took his position from him and it's written as though I am supposed to be happy about his fall from power because he's obviously happy playing in his garden and marrying a woman who clearly doesn't respect him. (edited) 7y
ScientistSam Yeah, Prunella just isn't a character I can like it respect. She's really just out for herself. You can be a kick-ass heroine and still treat others with dignity. 7y
ScientistSam @moranadatter forgot to tag you for above comment 7y

tpixie HP is frustrating. He never talked to Dumbledore when he should have. Is he really the reluctant hero, or rather he was surrounded many heroes that allowed him to get what needed to be done, done? I haven't read the book for a while so can't remember why, but I always thought Neville Longbottom was the real hero. Or at least the Goodest of the Good. 7y
BrainyHeroine @tpixie he's just annoying and in my opinion a plot device for the others. He doesn't do anything on his own. 7y
BrainyHeroine @Marmie7 me too!!! He's my favorite even if I can't spell his name correctly haha 7y
zsuzsanna_reads Someone else who doesn't like Harry! I'm not alone! 7y
