1946 Manhattan. About friendship and courage centered around 3 women and a ring of female secret agents during WWII. Grace Healy finds an abandoned suitcase at Grand Central Terminal with photos of woman who never returned home from the war. Grace is determined to find out what happened to them. Inspired by true events. Thought-provoking and captivating. Told from 3 POV. Jenoff shows how government barters with individual‘s lives. Recommended.

I absolutely loved this book! Not your typical predictable historical fiction! Loved the 3 different stories going on and the twist at the end! I also loved the independence of the character Grace, loved how her story was not your typical ending...I don‘t want to spoil it! Great great addition to the WW2 historical fiction genre!

MMFinck I dk what I think about the ending. It kind of made me sad. It felt like it would‘ve been truer to her newfound passion to have made the other decision and gotten involved. I think I wish the other character‘s life hadn‘t gone that way. Cryptic enough? ;) (edited) 6y
SassyBookworm @MMFinck 😏 I totally understand. It definitely wasn‘t the ending you wanted or expected and always makes me feel when there is an ending like that, that the world just isn‘t right! Those endings drive me crazy! I was like what, wait, why 🤦🏼‍♀️😏 6y
MMFinck Exactly! :) 6y
