This 🎼title prompt made me thing of The Hobbit, when Bilbo accompanying Thorin and the dwarves as a 'burglar' first meets Gollum & they trade riddles (a kind of joke) in a contest. Bilbo finds the ring & takes it. Gollum considers him and Frodo, who later inherits it in The Fellowship of the Ring, to be thieves of his 'precious.' 💍

Was Anna Anderson actually the tsarina of Russia, Anastasia, or was she #thejokerandthethief? If you‘ve followed the case of Anna, then you know what the DNA evidence has shown. I won‘t spoil whether Lawhon stayed true to the case or not, but I will say she took some artistic license and some risks with how she told the story. Lawhon is a must read author for me now. #getmovin

Whoops, missed a few days. Too much work is never fun, I've missed my Litsy life!
I read too much Brer Rabbit as a kid and I'm always rooting for the trickster.

Oh Loki! How much I wanted to like this trickster who would often explain away his behavior as a joke! He stole the hair of Thor‘s wife while she slept and is perhaps most infamous for stealing fire! #thejokerandthethief #getmovin

#GetMovin Day 8: There is definitely #TheJokerAndTheThief in the Raven Cycle series, particularly in The Dream Thieves. This volume in the series is the one that truly captivated me as the plot unravels gradually but oh so beautifully.

The thieving Mr Fox outsmarts three mean, greedy farmers by burrowing straight to their larders and chicken houses to steal food for his family and friends, when the farmers surrounded his hole and waited for him to appear.

And, to stretch the prompt a bit, the Salem Witch Trials were based on lies and hype and prejudices and the list goes on and on. An unfunny joke that robbed the lives of dozens of individuals. Far stretch, but my brain isn‘t quite working this morning. #thejokerandthethief #getmovin
