I watched this movie last week (Tom Hanks, #iykyk) & cried as hard as I've cried at a movie in some time. I didn't know it was based on a graphic novel until the credits rolled, & I immediately ordered it. The premise is brilliant - the "camera" stays in one place for the entirety, as we jump back & forth through time, often with multiple years in different, overlapping panes on the same page. Almost no words. So good.

Excerpt from chapter “19 April 1905” page 22.

“Each future moves in a different direction of time. Each future is real. At every point of decision, whether to visit a woman in Fribourg or to buy a new coat, the world splits into three worlds, each with the same people but with different fates for those people. In time there is an affinity of worlds.”
Sooooo eye opening- incredible perspectives! 👁️

This was picked by @WildAlaskaBibliophile for one of my #AuldLangSpine books. This was just adorable! I loved how it ended, and I loved the work the character put in himself. @monalyisha

Trying to keep up with my weekly neewspaper reading. Whenever I am up to date, a special edition comes out and gets me off course. The last one was a best literature of 2024 edition. Of course I had to read it more closely. 🙈🙈🙈

This was a great picture that depicted the bird flying through the times of the bones, back to when they were still alive. Great illustrations!

I chose this book to be so-so. I would use this in a classroom library or even do a class workshop where the students tell me their interpretation.
