Me | Elton John

Pickpick

Just a joyful delight to read. I celebrated every high & low with this charming talented man with a big voice & even bigger heart. I shed a few tears along the way for all of his generosity and good deeds. Loved this one and I‘m glad I had the physical copy as the enclosed personal photos are really special 💖
Challenge Prompts below 👇🏼

KarenUK Hubby is just stating this today.... he just finished Just Mercy (which he loved), so this sounds perfect for some lighter fare... 💕 5y

From Here to Eternity | Caitlin Doughty

Pickpick

If I‘m going to read about death, let it be a book by Caitlin Doughty. Here, Doughty travels the world, investigating various death-related practices. It‘s part anthropology and part cultural commentary. Despite the world travels, Doughty seems most concerned that her readers view death as something normal, inevitable, and practically cherished. Great storytelling style and narration.

BarbaraTheBibliophage Could be used for #millennialauthor #booked2020, but I am sticking to my original plan. Also for #liveandlearn but I just read mother book I‘ll count for that instead. Am using for #nonfictionchallenge2020 #somethingyouregratefulfor because I‘m glad Doughty is putting this idea of a good death out there. 5y
Reviewsbylola I really want her to write a straightforward book about her everyday life as a mortuary director as a follow up to 5y
Reviewsbylola I also want her to annotate Jessica Mitford‘s legendary book 5y

Velvetfur I've just read this via your email newsletter link, and came here so I could stack it! Sounds really good 😁 5y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @Reviewsbylola I agree on both counts! I have this one too, but doubt he takes the same tone. 5y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @Velvetfur Thanks for checking out the review and for stacking! Hope you like it. ♥️📚👊🏻 5y
Reviewsbylola Ooooh just stacked that! I had a friend in high school whose father ran their family‘s funeral parlor. There were living quarters above one of the funeral homes so we would hang out there at night occasionally. Sooooo creepy. 5y
RedxoHearts I love her books and her YouTube channel. Always something interesting to learn from her 5y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @Reviewsbylola Omigosh ... that‘s a heckuva memory! I‘m curious to read the Confessions book now too. 5y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @RedxoHearts I need to check out her YouTube! 5y
