Cerys has bought Villa Lucia in Tuscany. Harry is found murdered in the Villa's pool. The police descend on the property in order to discover who killed Harry. Can Cerys uncover the truth before everything shatters around her? The story is in multiple timelines. The characters were unique. I liked some of them but disliked others.

EadieB A lot of characters were alcoholic so there were themes of alcoholism and abusive relationships. The plotting was good with twists and turns which made the story good reading until the very end. If you like stories about characters overcoming addictions then you will love this book. I look forward to reading another book by Simon McCleave and I highly recommend this novel. 1mo

DI Laura Hart and DI Gareth Williams relationship is now one of waiting to be married and it finally does happen at the end of this book. But first they need to solve 2 mysteries. Abby White, a 17 year old girl, is missing. Sheila Jones is killed at a nearby women's prison. She is under investigation for suspicious activity, drugs related.

EadieB The decision is made to insert an undercover officer but nobody in the prison knows that. Both cases seem to be linked. Through twists and turns, Abby White's case is solved. I was really surprised at what happened with Abby's case. I am now hoping for another book in the Anglesey Crime series. If you like books with action then you will love this book. Highly recommended! (edited) 3mo

On a remote island, there‘s nowhere to run… Callum and his three best friends are celebrating their eighteenth birthdays with an epic camping trip to the mysterious Llanddwyn Island, off the coast of Anglesey. Then Callum disappears, and the others return to the mainland in a state of shock. When his body is discovered, DI Laura Hart is brought in to investigate.

EadieB Is the murder the work of the Fair Men, a pagan group with a dark history who still hold their ceremonies on the island? Or were the boys less tight-knit than they would have Laura believe? Amongst all the mysteries and lies, Laura is sure about one thing: the island will not give up its secrets easily… This is an atmospheric mystery with DI Laura Hart uncovers ties with drugs snd crime. It is well-plotted and satisfying. 8mo

1415 pts.

Laura Hart, after two months and the kidnapping of her son, has re-joined the force as a DI. Jamie McCann has disappeared without a trace twenty years ago but a skeleton has been found near a seaside town of Beaumaris, Anglesey. Laura‘s investigation leads her to MI5 and the Real IRA but nobody seems to want their secrets to come out.

EadieB This turned out to be a really interesting book after a bit of a slow start. The twists and turns about midway forced me to read without putting the book down until the cliffhanger of a finish. I am now looking forward to Blood On The Shore, the 3rd book in The Anglesey Series. If you like a thrilling mystery, then you would love this book. 2y

A London journalist is run off the road and killed, it seems that his death might be linked to his investigation into plans for a nuclear plant. Is the murder linked to an American power company with a dark past who want to bury the story? There are also locals who stand to make millions from the plant‘s construction. It soon appears there might be an event in Jake‘s past that might provide the clue.

EadieB This is the 13th book in DI Ruth Hunter series. DI Ruth Hunter investigates a suspicious death. Twists and turns end in the fact that Nick is arrested and held in jail. Hopefully, he will be released in the next book. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series. If you love police procedurals, true-to-life characters, and psychological twists, then you‘ll love this book. #BookSpinBingo 2y

A young couple on the run. A trail of death and destruction. Can DI Ruth Hunter stop Snowdonia's answer to Bonnie and Clyde before another innocent victim is murdered?
This is the 8th book in the DI Ruth Hunter series. It is a definite page-turner. The characters are believable and I had a hard time putting the book down.

EadieB The plot pace kept me reading until the very end. Sian's death is keeping Ruth and Nick reeling. Ruth's search for Sarah is still going on and the excellent cliffhanger keeps us looking forward. Finn and Kat made for an empathetic Bonnie and Clyde type read. I'm looking forward to the next installment to check out what happens with Nick, Amanda and Georgia. If you love action thrillers then you will love this series. Check it out! 2y

A dangerous Islamic terrorist. A safe house in the middle of Snowdonia. Can DI Ruth Hunter and DS Nick Evans deliver the suspect safely before there is a deadly rescue attempt?
This book is a fast-paced terroristic threat and very different then the familiar police procedural we are used to. It was a rollercoaster ride and totally gripping.

EadieB Nick Evans wife, Amanda, is about to give birth to their child. Will Nick make it home in time? Ruth is taken off to a secret location and is finally rescued. I'm now looking forward to reading the next book in the series. 2y
