First half was good, second half was strange, and the scene at the very end was 😲 I‘m hoping we get to see more of “Chris” in the next volume and to find out what he‘s been up to. 👍

About: Young famous female explorer living on an alternate Earth suddenly gets pulled back into a life of action when her family‘s secrets catches up to her. Oddly enough, there is also a strange cat (alarm cat) 🐱

Anyways, this was a fun start to a new series. I like it, and look forward to volume 2 👍

Overall, I loved this book. It's fast-paced, dark, and fun. Courtney gives an interesting, original twist on monster hunting with some heavy but interesting nods to Bram Stoker's Dracula. The last act gets a little rough, but that didn't stop me from enjoying the ride.
