I know I'm a day behind on this but my choices for #ruinedbythemovie are 'The Perks of Being a Wallflower' I had to shut the movie off after 30 minutes, 'Queen of the Damned' they mutilated this novel in the movie, and 'Gone With the Wind'.
I almost hate to say this one was #ruinedbythemovie because I am not sure this story could be dramatized properly and I think it could have been much worse and Tom Hanks, Jim Broadbent, Hugh Grant, and Ben Wishaw were excellent. Halle Berry not so much. However, I do have issues with the ending and the different story structure they used. #octphotochallenge #day20 @LibrarianRyan

I read somewhere that Matheson has hated all film adaptations of I am Legend, and I have to admit that I agree that this excellent #scaryread was a bit #ruinedbythemovie. Robert Neville is probably portrayed best by Will Smith, but the movie itself loses so much of the punch of his character. Much is the end (I also read a more true-to-the-book end tested poorly with audiences, 💩on them), but pos also the dog? So many tears #octphotochallenge
pickIt breaks my heart to criticize a film that stars Colin Firth, but this one just didn't work. New Cardiff is such a great book! (I don't know why its name was changed for the movie.) #ruinedbythemovie
Disclaimer: I have neither read this book nor seen the movie yet. However, it was technically #RuinedByTheMovie because someone on Tumblr went on a huge rant about the movie and gave away the ending. #octphotochallenge Day 20 I agree with all of the posts for #ruinedbythemovie today. I haven't seen the other adaptions of I Am Legend, but the one with Will Smith was so different from the book.
I LOVE Janet Evanovich and was so excited to hear of a movie adaptation until…Katherine Heigl as Stephanie Plum?!?!?! Blasphemy. Good god, that would be like Denise Richards as Katniss. No, no, no! I refuse to watch this one, so as not to allow the book to be #ruinedbythemovie. #octphotochallenge
