I had the opposite experience with this Riley Sager book & could not stop listening. A triple murder occurs in 1929 in a mansion on Black Tuesday. The story picks up in the 1980s with a young nurse moving into the mansion to take care of the only survivor of that awful night — who is also the number one suspect. This has a satisfying ending & lots of twists. And an excellent narrator. 4.5⭐️

TorieStorieS I really enjoyed this one, too! But I physically read it— how was the audio performance handled? Multiple performers? (edited) 3d
JenlovesJT47 @TorieStorieS the audio was great! Christine Lakin (dunno if you remember TGIF & the show Step By Step 😆) is the narrator for the 80s timeline then there‘s an older woman who does the other narration. Very good! 3d
TorieStorieS I do remember Step by Step but had no idea she performed audiobooks now! How fun! I‘ll have to put this on my wishlist for the next audible sale! 3d

Riley Sager‘s books are hit or miss for me & I haven‘t picked one up in a bit. I finished this a few weeks ago & have already forgotten most of the details 😳. It was okay but nothing special. 3⭐️

5 Stars • "The Only One Left" by Riley Sager is a Gothic thriller set in 1983. Kit McDeere, a home-health aide with a troubled past, cares for Lenora Hope, an elderly, mute woman suspected of murdering her family in 1929 at Hope‘s End, a decaying Maine mansion. As Lenora types her story, Kit uncovers deception among the estate‘s odd staff, leading to shocking twists in a suspenseful mystery.

The Last One Left is a solid five star read in my opinion. This book deviated from his usual formula of storytelling in a good way. I really liked each and every twist. #RileySager #TheOnlyOneLeft

Time to catch up on a book that I set aside a while back. I am going to catch up on this and book 8. Book 9 is coming soon and Riley is currently writing book 10. #theonlyoneleft #rileysager

It took me five months to finish this book but I liked it. The story is sort of a spin on the story from the movie Rear Window. However, there‘s a twist. One that Riley Sager has never done before. It made the story more interesting to me. With his earlier stories sometimes it‘s easy to gauge how the story will end. That is not the case with The House Across The Lake. #thehouseacrossthelake #rileysager

I really loved the beginning but I‘m indifferent about the twist of this book. Not what I was expecting but not a bad read either.
