These are the books I am targeting during the #NetGalleyReviewathon during August.

Of course sure I will add other books during the month! 😳😱

Also need to write reviews on three books I have already finished!

#Reviewathon

Are you joining in? This runs from 1st - 31st August

This is part memoir and part historical, political, social, racial, and religious commentary. The author is a Jew of Arab descent, and I liked the familial stories. He interspersed them with the other topics, which weren‘t half as strong. I‘m glad for what I learned, but definitely regret that I‘ll never get those hours back. Did a LOT of skimming.

The_Real_Nani That‘s too bad! I would definitely be interested in that topic but will wait until something better written comes along. 5y

Hit (and surpassed) my goal of 20 reviews. Glad for the challenge to boost my review percentage! #netgalley #reviewathon

TheShaggyShepherd I was so bad about requesting more books that my percentage pretty much stayed the same. Lol 5y
BarbaraTheBibliophage Good job! You got 20 more done than I did! 5y
CogsOfEncouragement I‘m really new to NetGalley. I checked on my percentage, which I thought would be 100% and it was not. I realized that I need to provide opinions, not just reviews. Did that. Thanks for posting and prompting me do a little self assessment. I‘m sure the authors appreciate it! 5y
JazzFeathers That's awesome! Congratis!!!! 5y

My favourite of all reading challenges, the #goodreadsseasonalreadingchallenge #fall2019 has started! With the kids all back to school tomorrow and my reading slump behind me (thanks to the #netgalley #reviewathon) I am happy to participate again this season. Any other Littens up for the challenge?

My new foster Jack is on steroids for his skin and ear infection so he needs lots of potty breaks. The skeeters are eating me alive. I‘m enjoying this novel though. I like how it skips back and forth between two different time frames. #netgalley #reviewathon

Today is the last day of NetGalley's #reviewathon. How did you littens do? I started strong in late July, but then got a bit sidetracked by my library holds and life in general. I did 11 reviews.. I think there were 3 on my list at the beginning of #reviewathon that I didn't get to..
But then I kept requesting more, lol! So I still have 8 books on my #TBR for NetGalley! My Feedback percentage is at 83%, but I was hoping it would be better!

jillrhudy LOL!!! Like a complete fool I signed up for NetGalley! As if I didn't have hundreds of books at home and work in a library and get ARCs from Librarything and have holds coming at me in analog and digital on a daily basis! 5y
Well-ReadNeck I did pretty well. Reviewed more than my goal of 20, and got close to clearing my shelf, but I have one title left. It‘s a 2020 read, so I‘m fine with it remaining. 5y
sprainedbrain I did horribly! Only 4 finished. 😞 5y
TheShaggyShepherd I don‘t know right now how many I finished but dumb me just couldn‘t stop requesting more. There‘s just so many that sound so good. 5y

This one is hard to put into words! I was actually just trying to find a short book on my netgalley list to read to squeeze one more in for #reviewathon and oh my goodness I am so glad I did. This was a relatively short book but had so much emotion packed into it. At its essence it is a story of families, but also tackles race, class and many other topics. At the end I was left wanting a little more, but it was a gorgeous story. 5 Stars!

KatieDid927 Nice! I have an ARC of this that I‘m starting soon, glad it‘s good! 5y
Tamra I so love Woodson‘s writing! 💜 5y
megnews I always want more of Woodson! 5y
TheShaggyShepherd I‘ve listened to 3 of her books so far. I requested this galley but have not heard anything back yet sadly. 5y

Once again, I couldn‘t control myself and have way too many ARCs I‘m trying to finish before their publishing dates. Only one chapter in, but I‘m liking the writing style so far. While sometimes I love beautiful writing (like When Breath Becomes Air), for Stories like these I like it straightforward to not distract from the story. #netgalley #reviewathon Our new foster is adorable and I‘m glad we finally have one that plays with my dog. #foster 💕

Pickpick

An immensely creepy, obsessive and disturbing psychological thriller, wrought with sexual tension, so engrossing it had to be read in one sitting. Told through alternating POVs Kate, a writer and college professor and Sam, her student, the stalker/stalked relationship develops through fast paced, gripping writing. Sam's character was exceptionally written and I eagerly awaited the passages dedicated to him. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ #reviewathon #netgalley

A historical retelling of Anastasia and the Romanovs with the promise of magic and an absolutely gorgeous cover - how could you not want to read this, right? What I got was a blatantly biased and vague historical retelling, with no explanation or real development of the magic and spell making process until the very end. This might be more suitable for a younger audience, not necessarily knowledgable of Russian history. ⭐️⭐️ #reviewathon #netgalley
