I‘m guessing this is a rerelease because of all the Are You There God hype, it‘s copyrighted 1998. #readwithjenna it was an impulse buy at Costco because of the cover 🌊 JB has no filter when it comes to emerging sexuality and that‘s apparent here but so is family, friendship, coming of age. What I appreciated the MOST was how true to herself Victoria ( Vix) became, finding your own path can be hard

Some BOTM members have commented on shipping taking a little longer, but that doesn't bother me personally knowing they're a start up. And I LOVE that they embrace giving hints about their upcoming choices. I've been very pleased with my membership and the book quality overall! 😊 2y

MicheleinPhilly I‘ve just been more annoyed than impressed with them lately. I used to struggle to limit myself to a single purchase each month, now I struggle to find ONE book a month. And the picks I‘ve gotten from the library have been more meh than yeah. 4y

marleed @MicheleinPhilly @swishandflick @megabooks I wonder if part of the problem stems from Botm‘s commitment to represent varying groups and diversities in each month‘s selections. Perhaps the quality of each story is taking a back seat to a broader representation of people. Hopefully, it will will keep getting easier to pick great books and meet diversity objectives.

MicheleinPhilly @marleed I can think of PLENTY of diverse authors, both new and established, that have released books this year to wide acclaim and buzz. They can still offer quality while maintaining their commitment to highlighting diverse voices. I just wonder whether some authors and publishers weren‘t just turned off of BOTM altogether after their behavior last year. 🤷🏻‍♀️ 4y
