It's 3:50am where I'm at in the world. It‘s so early its still silent on the main city parkway I live by. The completeness of the silence and darkness made me hesitate to break it, to turn on a light. So I crept precariously to the sink for a glass of water and crept back to bed. Too early to be up in my opinion...but it's never too early for reading! 🤓. So I'm happily moving on another Pocket Change Collective book!

Pickpick

This short book - almost a manifesto - brings up a lot of meaningful conversations that are often ignored. Adam Eli, a gay, Jewish cisgender man, highlights the point of starting to think about the idea of queerness as a global community. I look forward to reading the rest of the books in the Pocket Change Collective!

I‘m at 6hr 40 min for #AnyWayYouReadathon

MidnightBookGirl I will have to check the Pocket Change Collective books out! 3y
alisiakae @MidnightBookGirl I might listen to this one next while I work on a puzzle today, written by a climate change activist 3y

This week I'm reading some book mail I received from Algonquin Books, LET'S GET BACK TO THE PARTY by Zak Salih. I'll be reviewing this on my blog mid-February, but this debut novel "examines queer culture, generational envy, and the search for belonging through the lens of two childhood friends who reconnect as adults." ?️‍?

"A people without the knowledge of their past history, origin and culture is like a tree without roots." - Marcus Garvey

It is time to know my origin, my history, my culture.
