pickI realized that I have been slacking a bit lately in my #queer52 books so I picked this one up tonight and it was a perfect, quick read for a rainy night. An interesting story and realistic look at a toxic friendship. Would be great for a teen who has a toxic friendship and needs to see the positive of separating oneself from that friendship.
pickLOVED this book! Etta is an amazing, real and wonderful character. And I adored her group of friends - Bianca, James and Mason. Yayyyyy for bisexual main characters! And yayyyy for YA books that portray real teenagers who are damaged and flawed and just trying to survive in this wonderful, cruel world we live in. #queerbooks #queer52
pickInteresting novel about a gender fluid teen who is struggling to get through high school while dealing with the rigid and binary gender roles and expectations of most people. Through Riley's blog posts and experiences, the reader becomes well-informed about this specific character's experience as a gender fluid person. The story itself could have been better, but overall a good story.

pickFantastic trans superhero story! I adore superhero stories and this one did not disappoint. As with most queer superhero stories, this one does a great job of exploring closeted identities and corrupt bureaucracies. But, this story takes it to another level, exposing transphobia via the reactions to her true gender identity by an awful transphobic "feminist" superhero, Danny's "best friend" and her family. pickThis is such a beautiful and heartbreaking book. I read it while stuck in an airport for 2.5 hrs waiting for my delayed flight to leave and it might not have been the wisest choice as I think it made me even more emotional. 😭A haunting tale of love, family and grief. And the painful ways that we hurt each other and ourselves. Some happy moments thrown in as well. Just beautiful. ❤#queerbooks #queer52

pickThis was a very strange and interesting book. Although there were a lot of wacky things going on, I really enjoyed it and loved the different folklore that was present in the story. More Hopkinson needed in my reading for sure!
This was one of the #queer52 picks and while I really did enjoy reading this, I am a bit confused as the MC is not queer. There are different queer characters and relationships in the story but not the MC. 🤷🏻♀️
