pickAfter We Were Stolen is compelling. Avery deals with some rough situations, but despite the heavy subject matter, it's fast paced and reads easily. If you prefer your beach reads to be something grittier than a kissing book, After We Were Stolen gets my vote.
I've known Brooke for about 30 years so I'm extremely proud of her achievement. It really is good. I'm also proud that I didn't cry like pageant mom during her reading.
pickAnthem describes a very bleak yet realistic future for America and Gen Z. It was really hard to read a book like this while the world is still dealing with Covid and Putin is talking nuclear weapons. I am very scared and try to escape in my current vacation (Oman is so peaceful it‘s soothing) and my books. A light pick for the book.

It doesn‘t take long before a pandemic is spreading across the globe. The book tells about the pandemic and its aftermath. The premise made me think of Migrations and I had high hopes but this book is a collection of short stories rather than a novel, more SF than dystopian.
