Here‘s my day late #personalreadinggoals2021: It‘s a BACKLIST BONANZA! Books that have been on my shelf and/or kindle for a long time, books from my first year of #BOTM that I haven‘t read yet and books from series I‘ve neglected. Also, my #buzzwordbookathon for the year will be BOOK* (book, books, bookish, bookstore, bookshop bookshelf) in the title. Plus my usual goal of 12 nonfiction titles. So that‘s it. Here we go! #JumpintoJanuary

Last year I bought two new bookcases and reorganized my shelves. One of my #personalreadinggoals2021 is to create a dedicated reading space. It might take me all year!

Another goal is to read the tagged book. In light of today‘s events, I thought about starting it tonight. I changed my mind! Instead I made myself a cocktail, and I‘m watching the Highway Thru Hell marathon.

I set the first two goals every year. The third is important to me because I tend to sit on borrowed books and it's a bad habit; luckily my friends are so generous! The last few feel a little more nebulous, but I don't want to reduce diversifying and decolonizing my reading to a numbers game; instead, I want to broaden my support of authors who are BIPOC, disabled, LGBTQ+, in all ways, and far into the future.
