I have yet to finish his Septology series , my reading brain is finding it hard to finish anything so took in this slim volume. I liked it the first grouping is very much like what stands out in a child‘s memory. A middle section about a dog is fantastical tw below. The 3rd segment about a boy & girl 4 & 3 how they get in trouble, much from the point of view of the 4 year old brother. Powerful descriptions.

the only reason it's not zero stars is because the ending redeemed itself, but istg the mmc is just the combination of down-bad and daddy issues. (the funniest thing is, post ib exams, i hated this book but i used it for every paper 2 we did)

This one is a low pick for me. I love reading outside North America because of the freedom that authors have to write in ways that likely would not get published here. Sometimes that can also mean the books are more challenging to read, as I found with this Fosse. I really enjoyed parts of this collection - particularly the story of a man whose dog is killed - and overall the challenge was worth it as I am still thinking about the stories.

My first Jon Fosse. I‘ve wanted to read him since before he won The Nobel Prize in Literature, but that certainly pushed me to read him sooner.

This is a short book, my edition is 70 pages told In vignettes about a man‘s childhood and teens. About hanging out with friends but also the introduction of death.

I have been meaning to listen to the audiobook or read the book for some time. Within about two hours in I had a lot of thoughts. Mainly the constant mentions of inc**t where getting to me; so I decided to research it and found out some uncomfortable things about Zimmerman-Bradley and I ditched the book. I plan on donating my anthology to my library. #noway #yeetedthis

1 I only like to eat and drink from certain dishes and utensils. The spoons must be small, the lip of the cup must be thin. 🤷‍♀️
2 I will not eat any piece of fruit before 12 PM or after 5 PM. I‘ve a very small window for fruit eating. 🤷‍♀️
3 Noises irritate me, specially eating noises.
