#MissMyDad @Rissreads
My dad wasn't much of a reader, but he was a fan of Stephen Covey's 7 Habits book, and I still think about both it and him when I'm working, even if it couldn't be further from my reading preferences. The odd thing is, I have all these bookish memories linked to him: 1) him wanting to buy me this expensive book when I was a kid but making sure I would read it (I never did), 2) me taking John Dean's memoir from his shelf 👇

Billypar and discussing the Watergate scandal with him while we were at the beach on vacation, 3) trying to find books he might like while bored in the hospital and settling on And Then There Were None, though I'm not sure if he read it. Even without reading much, he always talked about wanting to find the time to relax with a book. He was a sharp writer and a lover of song lyrics, so I think he would have loved reading given the right circumstances. 8mo

@Rissreads What a generous and thoughtful #missmydad giveaway. This made me immediately think of reading Les Mis in high school with my best friend who passed away recently. After we read it we had to go see the Broadway show about a dozen times. I can‘t see this book without thinking about him. ❤️

It‘s been almost a year since my Dad passed away and to celebrate his memory I am doing a giveaway!
This was my Dads favourite book. Growing up I remember seeing this book on my parent‘s bookshelf. I loved being able to discuss it with him when I finally read it. To enter just share a book that reminds you of anyone in the world, and why. #MissmyDad ♥️
I will gift 2 books from someone‘s TBR list using a number randomizer. Picked March 22nd.

Librarybelle What a lovely gesture! ❤️ 8mo
Rissreads Thankyou @Librarybelle It‘s the best way I could think of to honour his memory in a meaningful way to me. 8mo
Jas16 Such a beautiful thing to do. The Diary of Anne Frank makes me think of my grandmother. I still have her copy of the book and can recall her encouraging me to read me when I was young and delighting in discussing it with me. 8mo

quietlycuriouskate ❤️ I have my mum's old copy of Moonfleet. I never once saw her reading, but she said she'd liked this one as a kid. It's set in Dorset, where we were from. 8mo
BarbaraBB My dad had Papillon on his shelves too. He died 18 months ago. I now have his copy and will think of a post. Thank you for organizing ❤️💔 8mo
Chelsea.Poole This is a great way to honor him ♥️ 8mo
marleed Oh what a wonderful way to celebrate your dad. There are couple times when my dad let me select/have his BOTM selection. One was The complete works of Robert Frost and my copy has a very old stamp from BOTM on the end page. But the tagged was also my selection and we both read it. I was the last out of the nest and it became our tagline! I did come across an estate sale hardback copy a couple years back and snatched it up! 8mo
Reggie ❤️This is lovely. I will be thinking about a post. 8mo
