This was a wonderful book about found family, alongside adoption and grief. Willow is a unique and gifted twelve year old girl, and I loved her story.

My 7th graders read this with another teacher and told me it was a great book, so I borrowed it from her to read now that school‘s out. I‘m thoroughly enjoying it, even with the heartbreaking moments.

An extremely rich, character driven novel which reminded me of how much I love Jules‘ writing. Chenneville is a story that evokes a place and moment in history so strongly, while still remaining a really personal story about its central character. This is definitely an instance where reading in print rather than listening to the audio would have enhanced my reading experience. The narration here was quite flat which didn‘t do the story service
A fantastic book with relatable essays about mourning and endless nostalgia about songs of the 80‘s and 90‘s. Today‘s playlists don‘t hit the same as a good old mixed tape!
A sweet book that introduces grief at a first grade reading level. It illustrates the changes in sorrow and cheerfulness and how a friend can help. #underthedustcover
Last year I mentioned our local library built a wind phone on their property. This week our local independent newspaper made a video about this one of a kind building in Vermont. My daughter, daughter-in-law, their best friend and the librarian spoke of how valuable it is and how much they use it. I thought folks might be interested in viewing the film. It's a surprisingly vulnerable video.
