Pickpick

This one is definitely darker, but I was fully prepared for that. It was laugh out loud funny in places (I was trying so hard not to wake the neighbours with my head under a pillow laughing SO hard at the dragon costume, but mostly the poster plant). It had some really hard parts to read, but it wasn‘t necessarily the dark parts I found hard to read (I‘d guessed at least some of them).

GingerAntics I‘m so, so glad it ended with the beautiful, wonderful HEA it did. Fionn and Rose totally deserved it - Fionn especially. I have greatly enjoyed the Kane brothers and their lovely wives. These will definitely be a pick me up reread going forward. 5d
julesG The dragon costume was so well done, I wonder whether that was taken from a real life experience. 5d
GingerAntics @julesG oh my god I was laughing SO hard, I was under my pillow trying not to wake anyone up. I was thinking the same thing. Who did you know who actually did this… and then he was green for a week! Lived Fionn piling on with that. “Maybe 2 weeks if you scrub a couple times a day… otherwise, maybe a month.” 🤣😂🤣 5d

The snark is SO strong in this one, in the very best ways. I died again and again laughing (literally out loud) at parts of this one. It‘s somehow better than the last book, which I didn‘t think was going to be possible. Plus, there is the bonus of a Bible quoting, Bible thumping, hypocritical psychopath killer being permanently “deleted,” and the constant sermonising silenced. It was chef‘s kiss.

julesG Just know, book 3 is different. 6d
GingerAntics @julesG I heard it was darker, because we get way more of the back story of them in Ireland and their messed up father. 6d
julesG Yes, that. And it's timeline is parallel to B&B and L&L, which confused me a tiny bit and which made it feel like it was dragging on a bit. It didn't and I enjoyed it, but it was definitely different from the first two. 6d
GingerAntics @julesG I was reading the blurb and was thinking that there was definitely some overlap. His life is definitely separate from Lachlan and Rowan, so I guess it makes sense. He wasn‘t in those as much. 6d
