Well, I don‘t know what to say about this one. I didn‘t love how one situation worked out in the book, but the ending was just okay. 3 🌟

I wanted to like this one.
I tried but honestly the male MC doesn't recognize his mistreatment until more than 3/4ths of the way in and by then I really couldn't see or understand how aside from the contract keeping them together, why, and this is a short read, they would be together? The female MC has so many different self issues aside from being a survivor of abuse to stay in a relationship with a man who neglected her time and time again.
Our detective this time is investigating a serial killer that is recreating murders from a best selling book. I generally don't like "books within books", so the fact that every other chapter was a chapter of the fictional book made me struggle at the beginning. I thought that presenting this fictional book as something all the characters love was the author shooting herself on the foot, because it was boring me to death. ⬇️
Extra points for thar bein' a map! 🏴☠️
I thought this was a funny book, lots of surprises. But the map really topped it off. This graphic novel is really for everybody, it's cute, easy to read, and it has monsters.
3.5 ⭐️ read. I was totally immersed in the setting which is Vittoria, Spain. I'm a suckered for a good serial killer story and whilst this had a great deal of potential I admit to getting frustrated with the characters. With that said I'm still going to read the next in the series as I really enjoy this authors writing style.
Yup this just happened. The last of the monster novellas by Katee Robert. This was probably my least favorite and only because I found Catalina to be annoying. Again super spicy and tentacles. Mind the TW's if you're a sensitive reader this won't be for everyone. But now I can at least say "why, yes, I've read the monster reads by KR. #LittensLoveRomance
I have contradictory feelings about this one.On the one hand,I liked the settings and it left me really wanting to visit Vitoria;on the other I absolutely hated the dialogues, that felt out of a parody of a noir movie;I liked all the symbolising of the murders and it was a good serial killer story, but the murderer didn't really surprise me. I cringed reading the tweets, but in general I'm not ready to accept the inclusion of social media in books.
I really did not enjoy this, which is a big bummer as I really liked the first book in the series. Also the cover is super pretty. I just did not like either of the characters, I would also classify this more as erotica than romance, as there isn‘t much romance in here but a lot of steamy scenes. There was so little connection between the characters though so I was bored…2⭐️
