Another delightful surprise today! This gorgeous vintage hard cover of my new favourite Georgette Heyer book from an antiquarian book dealer in Brisbane. Which of you lovely people arranged this?

I‘ve enjoyed all the Heyer books I‘ve read, but this one takes the cake! Not so much a romance as a straight out comedy - it is hilarious! Sophy is an unforgettable character. This is another book borrowed from my Heyer loving friend. I am going to have to buy myself a copy for when (not if) read it again.

mabell Oh I‘m so looking forward to this one! I have it on my shelf, and it may have to be next! It‘s been a long time since I have read a Heyer romance. I tend to save them as a special travel book, but then I don‘t get to them very often 😆 4w

Everything I read in September minus Hi Honey, I‘m Homo by Matt Baume (cover not findable by the app and where would I have placed it?!) 17 books YOWZA

Frederica is my favorite with The Husbands a close second. I gave Tiger Eyes lots of stars, too but just couldn‘t get into the movie 🎥 😢

Strong pick! Love Heyer‘s characters, always fun. Tho, the endings always feel abrupt and of course, a foregone conclusion, but she has to end it sometime. So many words to look up, too. Fun, fun, fun 🤩

A re-re-reread (with a few more re‘s) of this Heyer mystery set in a small British village. I love the small cast of unique characters. Mrs. M with her “U” named pekes, the rascally, aged ex-poacher, the whole enthusiastic Ditchling brood, so many that make this a humorous read - and the mystery is good too! Who shot Sampson Warrenby in his garden? No one has an alibi…
